Central Park Statue

New York, NY | Allen Ross Architecture was contacted by Trina Greene, a Hudson Valley sculptor with a focus on social justice, to assist in her competition entry for the Monumental Women sculpture competition at Central Park, the first statue of non-fictional women in Central Park. Ms. Greene’s parti is of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony walking over a bridge together, symbolizing their joint actions for suffrage and women’s rights. ARA assisted through collaboration on the sculpture’s bridge design and siting, scale and detailing. Trina Greene’s other works include Sojourner Truth and the Potter’s Field Woman, both located in New York State.
